Are you originally from Dharamshala?
Yes, I was born in a beautiful place called Norbulingka in Dharamshala, known for its serene atmosphere and colourful monasteries.
What is the quality of life here like?
The quality of life in Dharamshala is quite good. Dharamshala is famous for clean air, stunning landscapes, spiritual exploration and outdoor activities. An amalgamation of Tibetan and Indian culture, Dharamshala is visited by tourists from across the globe.
What is the best thing about Dharamshala?
The best thing about Dharamshala is the lush green view and the natural beauty of this place. The peaceful atmosphere of the city is what attracts nature and travel enthusiasts.
What are the people here like?
The people of Dharamshala are warm and hospitable. There are people from various communities as residents in Dharamshala. There are many Tibetans and you can see the influence of Tibet's culture here. You will find the people to be friendly, welcoming, open-minded, and kind-hearted.
As compared to other big cities, how is the lifestyle different in Dharamshala?
The very name 'Dharamshala' evokes the concept of a shelter or rest house for spiritual pilgrims. The city has always given the message of warmth and inclusivity and has welcomed everyone with open arms. The lifestyle here in Dharamshala is different in many aspects, especially due to the greenery, serene atmosphere and sense of togetherness embedded amongst the locals.
What is the night scene here like?
The nightlife in Dharamshala is a bit more quiet as compared to metropolitan cities. While a few restaurants, cafes and bars are open during the after-hours, the overall atmosphere remains quiet. Tourists are spotted enjoying a serene walk at night or dining at local eateries. Occasionally, cultural events and performances are organised which are quite entertaining.
Which are the best places to hang out in Dharamshala?
If you want to spend some quiet time, you can visit the Bhagsunath Temple, to feel the positivity and good vibes. For those who enjoy trekking, Triund is an excellent option. It is a famous destination renowned for its breathtaking views. Adventure enthusiasts can indulge in activities like paragliding at Indrunag, where the lofty heights provide beautiful views of the surroundings. To enjoy an evening full of fun, you can head to the Black Magic Club in Mcleodganj. It is a good option for having a good time with friends.
Are you a foodie? Which is your favourite eatery in Dharamshala?
As a food lover, Dharamshala is a delightful destination for trying out some amazing recipes. While there are many eateries here, the House of Tibet is my favourite in Mcleodganj. This establishment offers a fusion of Tibetan and Indian cuisine, which are quite scrumptious. I think all food lovers must visit the House of Tibet while visiting Dharamshala. The ambiance of this place is quite good as well.
How did you discover the eating place?
I often visit new eateries and cafes with my friends and family. I prefer places that are neat and clean, have a pleasant ambience and are located at a good location. On my birthday, we decided to visit the House of Tibet, which turned out to be an excellent decision. The ambience here is delightful, complemented by fast service and delicious food.
What attractions in Dharamshala would you recommend to a tourist?
The natural beauty of Dharamshala has always been a tourist magnet. The city has many attractions for tourists to discover. The first place that I recommend visiting is the Kangra Fort, renowned for its ancient ruins and majestic architecture. The Dal Lake is also a popular destination where tourists can go to relax. Another gem is Dharamkot, a quaint village near Dharamshala.
Apart from Dharamshala, which other nearby places would you recommend for visiting?
There are many places that tourists can visit near Dharamshala. The first one is Palampur, renowned for its tea gardens, pleasant weather and picturesque landscapes. For those interested in exploring history or spirituality, Kangra Fort and Masroor Rock Cut Temple offer a fascinating glimpse into the rich heritage of the region. Bir Billing is also a good tourist destination, famous for paragliding and breathtaking landscapes.

My favourite dish to eat at the House of Tibet is thukpa. It is a traditional Tibetan noodle stew that is quite popular in the Northeastern cuisine as well. The vegetarian thukpa variant available at this restaurant is quite mouth-watering. It is made of noodles and a variety of vegetables like cabbage, bell peppers, carrots, tomatoes, spring onions and spinach, which are all simmered in a flavourful broth.

Working in the administration department has taught me the importance of teamwork and collaboration. I often assist my colleagues in different tasks and functions. I have also gained a broader perspective of the administrative side of the aviation industry. From handling paperwork and logistics to coordinating with suppliers and vendors, I've learned how the behind-the-scenes administrative work contributes to the overall success.
